SPF, which is an abbreviation for Sender Policy Framework, is an authentication system that aims at protecting against the so-called e-mail counterfeiting. Basically, this means sending a message from one e-mail address and making it appear to be sent from a different one with the idea to scam in some manner the person receiving it. In case the SPF protection is active for a domain, a record which includes all mail servers authorized to send messages with addresses under the domain is generated. The record is stored on all DNS servers that direct the web traffic internationally, so that they all will recognize if an e-mail message originates from a legitimate server or not. The check is performed at the first server where the e-mail goes through and in the first case the message is forwarded, but in the second one it is removed and it never reaches the supposed recipient. Applying SPF records for your domains will prevent any unwanted people from using your emails for malicious objectives.

SPF Protection in Cloud Hosting

SPF protection can be enabled for each domain name hosted in a cloud hosting account on our cloud platform with just a couple of mouse-clicks. The function is available in the Emails section of our modern Hepsia Control Panel and all it takes to enable it is to choose one of your domain names from a drop-down list and enter the hostnames plus the IPv4 or IPv6 addresses of the e-mail servers that will be certified to send email messages from your email addresses. As an additional option you may also restrict the email messages to be sent from your domain name only when it includes our MX records, in other words when our servers manage the email addresses for it, not some third-party supplier. This option will give you the highest standard of safety, but it's not applicable in case only your website is on our servers while the e-mail addresses for the domain name are taken care of elsewhere. Regardless, our SPF protection service will keep your emails safe from being used for spam and/or scam purposes.

SPF Protection in Semi-dedicated Hosting

The Hepsia web hosting Control Panel, that is included with all of our Linux semi-dedicated hosting, provides you with a really user-friendly interface to enable the SPF protection service for every domain name that you host inside your new account. A couple of clicks in the Emails section of Hepsia will be enough for that and you will only have to enter the hostname and the IP address of the mail server that will be permitted to send out messages from your e-mail addresses. When the e-mail messages are handled on our end and not by a different provider, you can increase the protection level even further and enable an option for your outgoing email messages to be sent only if your domain names feature our MX records. This option will give you increased control and it'll eliminate any possibility of anyone counterfeiting your emails with the purpose of spamming or scamming people. It is not applicable when just your website is on our outstanding cloud website hosting platform, while your email addresses are managed by a different service provider. If you are not sure what features to pick, our technical support staff will assist you 24/7.
