Dot NAME Domains

Set up in 2001, the Dot NAME generic Top-Level Domain is the only one supposed to be for personal websites only. These domain names can be personal or fictitious names, aliases and/or other designations people are famous by. At first, solely third-level registrations were permitted, so if you wanted to acquire john.doe.name, you would have to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration procedures were loosened and 2nd-level registrations were also allowed. Already acquired 3rd-level names remained online.

Through our company, you can obtain your .NAME domain for a period between one and ten years. You will have the chance to update the WHOIS details, to park your domain, to modify Custom DNS records, etc. You can also move over an already registered domain to our firm if you get its EPP transfer key from the current registration service provider and we will renew it as soon as the transfer has been finalized. There are no special restrictions on who can register a .NAME domain, but in order to keep the concept behind its creation alive, the .NAME Registry may check who the owner is and if there is no relation between the owner and the actual domain, the registration could be challenged.
